LONG BEACH, Calif. U.S.A. (April 24, 2008) – The Specialty Coffee Association of America, the world's largest coffee trade association, today announces the additions to its 2008–2009 board of directors, which will be led by Mark Inman, president of Taylor Maid Farms LLC in Sebastopol, Calif., as SCAA's new president.
Throughout the next year, each SCAA Board member will help to guide and support the association and its mission of providing a common forum for the development and promotion of coffee excellence and sustainability. Members of SCAA include coffee retailers, roasters, baristas, producers, exporters and importers, as well as manufacturers of coffee equipment and related products.
In addition to naming a new president, SCAA adds a new 2nd vice president, Peter Giuliano, director of coffee and co-owner of Counter Culture Coffee as well as board members Marty Curtis, co-owner RoZark Hills Roasterie, Atlas Coffee Importers Director of Relationship Development Al Liu and Paul Thornton, Roastmaster and Green Coffee Buyer at Coffee Bean Intl SCAA's new president, 2nd vice president and directors begin their terms on May 1.
Celebrating 26 years of success, SCAA is the world's largest coffee trade association. SCAA members are located in more than 40 countries and represent every segment of the specialty coffee industry, from coffee growers to coffee roasters and retailers.
